QATAR CHAPTER 7 : Qatar National Day

National Day this year, december 18th, I have the feeling it has been extended to National Day Weekend!.  Yes, the whole weekend this year !. Friday 16th you could already see decorations, banners, guys selling scarfs and flags in the roundabouts, and  images of Qatar and the Royal Family!.

Qatar has many activities which include camel competitions, falcon demonstrations, fireworks, masculine folklore, classic cars exhibition, horse racing and much more ,  but the most amazing thing  with no doubt! is to see how qataris paint their cars with nacional colors and images of the Royal Family and make “donuts “ in the road!.  I haven´t seen that anywhere else in the world!. Qataris are undoubtely proud of their heritage and their Royal Family , as the ruler of the country Sheik Jassem Bin Mohamed Al Thani takes good care of their citizens!. In another post I´ll tell you how qatari people live and the privileges they have!. Stay tuned.

What do you know about Qatar?  What do you think?

Almost all the activities are along the Cornice

QATAR CHAPTER 6 : How much for a camel?

Have you ever been in a camel market? After one year and a half living in Qatar, a bedouin culture , you get used to see them in the desert and to try them! as camel meat is a delicacy and I´ve to admit that after trying it, is not something that I would eat daily but is surprisingly good and not the tough meat as I thought it would be!. Last week I went to the camel and animal market in Qatar; probably in 2-3 years it will be as popular as the camel races!.
I was curious about how much for a camel so after researching I found out that the big ones which end in qatari restaurants can cost from 700-1000€ and racing camels from 1 million reals.

But, do you know that a camel can reach a million dolars in a private auction?

MY SECRET OUTLETS IN MILAN!

I´ve been many times in Milan for work; in winter cold, rainy and grey; in summer extremely humid but I´ve  never seen more stylish people per square mt. as in Milan and yet the big fashion names  are based here; you will soon discover the beauty of Milan is behind closed doors!. Most italians do not go to Via della Spiga and Montenapoleone, is too expensive, they either go to sample sales or the outlets!. Here are my secret addresses!.

-10 Corso Como: A very well known outlet  run by Carla Sozzani , former editor of Vogue Italia is very expensive and a fake outlet, go to 10 Corso Como Outlet , Via Tazzoli, 3 where you can find Alaia and Mc Queen´s 60% off!.

-D Magazine: Via Montenapoleone, 26 Sells shoes, accessories and coats from past season marquee- name collections!.

-Eleonora Scaramucci outlet: Via dell´Orso,1.

-Antonia: Via Ponte Vetero,1 From Balenciaga to Rag&Bone

-Casa di Minea: Via Savona, 17 Has jewelry from finish designers who collaborate with big fashion brands.

-Roberto Musso has just opened his first store in Via Brera,2 Besides in Brera you´ll find the most charming restaurants ,coffee shops and the most perfect bag and wallet fakes you´ve ever seen!.

Beware of Marni Outlet in Filippo Tajani, 1 after the hard time to find it, it turned out to be a fake outlet as all the items as all the items are normally as expensive as in the store, disappointing.

And if you love vintage, you´ll find 60s 70s Gucci  and Pucci bags in  Cavalli e Nastri ,Via Brera, 2.

                                              MERRY CHRISTMAS!

-Eleonora Scaramucci outlet: Via dell´Orso,1.

                                    FELIZ NAVIDAD!

DOHA 4 : Wafi Gourmet

Hi ladies!. My hot spot in Doha today is ...Wafi Gourmet! in Landmark Mall. Qataris love shopping malls ; they are building  more and more  shopping malls every year   and  when you establish in Qatar , you realize every shopping mall has different types of clientèle and you get to find out your favorite spots. Wafi Gourmet  It´s an interesting place to go to have a quick bite for lunch as it is a mix of cafeteria, lebanese gourmet store and restaurant. Most frequented by arabs , is definitely a spot to try!.  We had 2 mixed grills, juices, drinks and bread for 190Qrs, not too bad for Qatar!. I recommend the mixed grill and the  mini sausages, and I took the chance to get some arab interesting unique delicatessen products  while you´re there;  1 Kg. of sweets 100 Qrs;  is a threat for the figure  but who can resist so close to christmas?

What do you think ? How do you like the place?

Hola chicas!
