In Qatar are more oriented to locals and expatriates as 75% of the population are expatriate so sometimes is difficult to find something of your taste which will look good but here´s an example of a great unique, different  long summer dress!. MEET NEW TALENT IN QATAR!

We interview the indian emerging designer  based in Qatar SELINA FAROOQUI   who just gratuated this year at Virginia Commonwealth University in honors and  was awarded best designer in Doha, Qatar. She will talk to us about the Fashion Industry in Qatar , glamorous qatari women and their tastes and likes!.

Entrevistamos a la diseñadora de origen indio SELINA FAROOQUI recién graduada y alumna sobresaliente de Virginia Commonwealth University y premiada como mejor diseñadora en Doha, Qatar.Nos hablará en esta entrevista sobre la industria de la moda en Qatari, las mujeres cataríes y lo que les gusta!.

Selina , which are your sources of inspiration?

I am inspired a lot by nature, the colors, the different textures and the delicate beauty of it. I’m also inspired by fabrics. My design process in some ways is backwards from the regular process. I love finding unique and interesting fabrics. I let the fabric speak to me and I design based on that. I have built entire collections around a single fabric I have found. I love mixing and matching rich colors and prints with luxurious brocades, jacquards and embroidered pieces. Wherever I travel, I love visiting the local textile markets, its truly a treat for the senses and is very inspiring and I usually end up spending my entire shopping allowance on fabrics!

Háblanos sobre tus fuentes de inspiración.

Me inspiro en la  belleza ; naturaleza, colores, texturas, telas ... mi metodología de diseño es poco convencional, lo hago más bien al revés de lo que se acostumbra a hacer . Me encanta descubrir tejidos originales  e interesantes ,me dejo seducir por su lenguaje y baso mi diseño y mi colección entera  en lo que los tejidos me  transmiten. Me encanta mezclar y combinar colores , utilizar  estampados intensos , bordados sofisticados y lentejuelas .cuando viajo , me gusta ir a los mercados de tejidos; estimula mis sentidos y me inspira muchíssimo. Normalmente gasto todo mi presupuesto en tejidos !

Vision of the European& American market towards the Gulf fashion industry?

I believe there is a huge European and American market here in the Middle East for fashion. I have met so many women here who are interested in what I do and what I design. And although the shopping here is great, sometimes it is difficult to find that one fabulous piece, that is unique and still at an middle affordable price. Here is where I feel I fit into the market. My garments are all one of a kind, the fabrics are imported from India and mixed together with local fabrics, the embellishments and details are all hand done by myself, I am always experimenting with new ways to embellish and adorn my clothes, from making unique belts to beading. Therefore I feel my garments are special, I hope they have that touch that this piece was made by someone who loves what they do. And I try to keep my prices, not at the mass market level, but not also at the luxury designer level. They are in the middle. And the garments are versatile enough that you can just buy one piece, for example a statement jacket, and wear it in so many different ways.

Qué diferencias ves entre el mercado de Occidente de los países del Golfo?

Creo que en el Golfo les encanta el estilo occidental. El problema que hay en el Golfo es que  es diíficil encontrar piezas originales , de calidad  a buen precio. Pasamos de las grandes marcas de lujo a marcas de mercadillo, no hay término medio y ahí está mi mercado. Mis prendas son especiales y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Importo los tejidos de India , los mezclo con tejidos catarís y los decoro con detalles a mano. Siempre experimento con nuevas técnicas para embellecer mis prendas y darles un toque de distinción. Un ejemplo de ellos son mis característicos cinturones. Todas mis prendas son muy verstátiles, si adquieres por ejemplo una chaqueta encontrarás mil formas de combinarla!.

How you see the fashion industry in Qatar.

The fashion industry in Qatar is growing. There is more appreciation for young designers. Women in the region want something new and fresh and unique. That is where my job lies, to provide them with something they can get no where else but here. I have had so many wonderful opportunities presented to me here, such as charity fashion shows, private showcases and trunk shows. And even just looking at the women here, they are so glamorous. There is an elegance as well as a playfulness to their style, and I find that so inspiring.

Cómo ves el mundo de la moda en Qatar.

La industria está creciendo. Los catarís valoran cada vez más a los diseñadores emergentes y las mujeres buscan prendas nuevas, frescas y únicas. Mi trabajo consiste en satisfacer esa necesidad y darles una prenda de edición limitada. Qatar me ha ofrecido maravillosas oportunidades, como pasarelas de beneficiencia, pases privados , ferias de muestras y oportunidades para mostrar mis colecciones en suites privadas de hoteles. basta con observar como visten las mujeres cataríes, son súper glamurosas, elegantes y les encanta jugar con su estilo!. Lo encuentro muy inspirador!. 

Do you personalize garments, what  Qatari women request?

I have made personalized garments for several women so far, some local, some expat. That is actually how I started, by making garments on private order.

He hecho varias prendas a medida y únicas para muchas mujeres locales e incluso expatriadas. De hecho así es como empecé, diseñando a medida. 

What´s next for you?

I will keep working on strengthening my brand image, Selina Farooqui. I feel I have many dimensions as a designer. One dimension I have started exploring is my cultural background, mixing indian with arabic inspirations and styles into contemporary garments.I feel the variety of my work will keep growing and I will keep developing different styles of garments, but never forgetting to add a touch of what makes my designs uniquely "Selina Farooqui" fashions. 

Qué proyectos tienes como diseñadora?

Quiero consolidar mi marca, Selina Farooqui. Creo que tengo mucho que ofrecer y tengo muchas facetas como diseñadora. Una de las facetas que he empezado a explorar está relacionada con mis orígenes en la India, que mezclo con estilos árabes para sacar una prenda ultra moderna. Mi estilo tiene que evolucionar mucho todavía pero siempre conservaré el toque de Selina Farooqui que hace que mis prendas tengan personalidad y sean piezas típicas "Selina Farooqui".

QATAR CHAPTER 2 :Qatari brides - Las novias cataríes

When in Spain women start thinking about getting married on their 30s , qatari Women start thinking about it when they´re 17-18 when they´re at their last year of High school. Men are  21-31 when they have a stable job to provide for the family. If a woman reaches 26 and she´s not married yet, she will be considered the spinster and her chances of getting married will decrease considerably as qatari men prefer younger brides!. The number of spinsters increases as there ´re more and more unmarried women as many young qatari ladies value education. Good for you ladies!.   

The engagements take place after signing the official marriage contact taking place in a ritual called milcha which derives from the word "milk " which means property , simbolizing that after becoming husband and wife they will belong to each other . How romantic ... !. This is a religious and legal union between the couple.The milcha is attended for the bride, groom and their inmediate families in the privacy of the brides home .  The groom goes to the bride´s home with her mahr ,shabka and the wedding rings. A religious sheik ( maalach)  with the marriage contract from the Court comes.  This is a ceremony and he will go to the men´s and women´s room not asking if they do want to get married ( they´ve previously agreed) but asking for the documentation required with the presence of the man´s and women´s witnesses,  separately. It is interesting to point out that in some marriage contracts the women estipulate conditions such as beeing able to continue her eductation, having a house of their own, that he will not have another wife, having a car ... after the signature of the contract they become officially husband and wife and a bond between their families. The families will have  a dinner together and this is when the husband sees her wife without her head coverings for the first time !.  Nowadays , many qatari women do not cover their faces , they only use the abaya to cover their bodies and some of them are  very fashionable.  After dinner , when the man leaves, women start a private celebration and dance to the occasion!. 

And when the wedding ? Between the milcha and the wedding celebration times varies from a few  months to a year. In this period the couple can continue getting to know each other but keeping their relationship formal until the wedding celebration takes place . Many people would not know  they´re married until it will be made public when they´ll receive the wedding invitation that´s why by islamic law they have to be conservative and keep their relationship formal. 

After the Milcha, the engagement can be broken  anytime. If she brakes it, she has to return the mahr and shabka. If he brakes it ,she has the right to keep everyhting he has given her.The wives do not change their names by islamic law as her name is an honorable name of her family and tribe.  I like that!.

En España no pensamos en casarnos hasta pasados los 30, las cataríes fantasean con la idea de vestir de novia a los 17-18 años. Si a los 26  todavía no está casada será considerada una solterona y las posibilidades de que llegue a casarse algún día bajan considerablemente ya que los hombres musulmanes prefieren a mujeres jóvenes y sanas que puedan darles descendencia, aunque los tiempos están cambiando también en Catar y cada vez hay más solteronas por "vocación", al escoger la educación como prioridad . Los hombres, no tienen miedo al compromiso como los nuestros , al ser una costumbre tan arraigada a la sociedad catarí , éstos llegan al altar entre los 21-31 una vez tienen un trabajo fijo para mantener a la familia. 

La "milcha", que proviene de "milk" , significa literalmente "propiedad"  y simboliza que la pareja después de convertirse en marido y mujer  mediante un documento,   que tiene no sólo validez legal sinó también religioso , pertenecerán el uno al otro para siempre. En el ritual de  "micha" asiste sólo el novio, la novia y la família inmediata, por separado. Las mujeres por un lado y los hombres por otro. El novio se dirige a la casa de la novia con la dote ( mahr), el shabka ( el ajuar) y los anillos. Un jeque religioso oficiará la ceremonia por separado , irá al salón donde se encuentran las mujeres y los hombres por separado para que actúen como testigos y entregarán su documentación para que dicha unión pueda llevarse a cabo. Cabe destacar que en dicha ceremonia no  se pide el consentimiento del novio  y la novia ya que previamente ya han acordado casarse. En los contratos matrimoniales hoy en día, se estipulan  una série de condiciones especiales por parte de la novia como por ej. poder  terminar sus estudios, poder conducir y tener coche propio, que el marido no se case por 2ª vez ...una vez acordadas las condiciones, se firma dicho contrato vinculante para el novio , la novia y la unión de sus respectivas familias.  Ahí es donde el novio podrá ver a la novia por primera vez ! sin pañuelo o el  velo si se trata de una novia muy tradicional!. Hoy en día muchas mujeres cataríes no llevan velo, sólo un pañuelo en la cabeza que cada vez se coloca más atrás y la abaya que cubre todo el cuerpo hasta los tobillos. Cuando el novio abandona la casa de la novia , las mujeres se disponen a bailar y a celebrarlo en la privacidad de las casas. Si viajáis a Catar y veis luces que nosotros podríamos interpretar como  " navideñas " en el  exterior de la casa  significa que están  festejando  la unión de una de sus hijas!. 

 Y qué pasa después?  Entre la "milcha" y la boda tal y como la entendemos, pueden pasar meses e incluso un año. En ese espacio de tiempo los novios tienen tiempo para conocerse mejor pero manteniendo las formas y distancia  hasta el día de la boda oficial. Pueden romper el compromiso cuando quieran , si ella lo rompe, tendrá que devolver la dote y el ajuar. Si es él quien rompe el compromiso, la novia tendrá derecho  a quedarse con todo lo que el novio le ha entregado.  Por ley, la novias no cambian sus nombres una vez casadas ya que su apellido  honra a su familia y a  la tribu a la que pertenecen. 

The Mahr is one of the oldest qatari traditions which was meant to be some sort of women financial stability if her husband died or divorced her. The average of a mahr is 100.000Qrs ( 20000€), higher class qataris pays up to half of a milion Qrs. and the Royal Family , millions. Is up to women how to use their mahrs and usually is the women´s family who sets up the mahr value for men to pay. If the marriage is between 2 cousins sometimes the family agree there will be no mahr. The minimum age for  women to get married in the State of Qatar is 16 and 18 for men. 

La dote es una de las tradiciones cataríes más antiguas, que tiene como objetivo proporcionar estabilidad económica a las esposas si el marido se divorcia o fallece. Una dote oscila entre 100.000 Qrs ( 20.000€), la clase alta puede pagar dotes que oscilan entre  600.000Qrs- 1.000.000Qrs (120.000€-200.000€). Las dotes de la Familia Real son  naturalmente millonarias. Normalmente la família de la novia estipula la cantidad de la dote y la novia escoge cómo la gastará o administrará. Si el matrimonio se lleva a cabo  entre primos, a veces la familia acuerda que la dote  no es necesaria. (La edad mínima para poder contraer matrimonio en Catar es 16 años para mujeres y 18 para hombres). 

                                                               Shabkha tradicional

The tarditional shabka consist of  a round, usually 22 carts of gold pendant with chain bangles, gold earrings and 2 gold bracelets attached to gold rings. Only very traditional brides buy the traditional  shabka now, only to be found in the Gold Market or Souq Al- Waagif. Most people prefer going to the designer jewellers as Bulgari, Chopard, Pomellato, Vasari, Tiffany ... Times have changed!.is the groom or the groom´s family gift to the bride. A modern Shabka ( necklace, earrings, bracelet, ring and an expensive watch). It can cost from 5000 ( 1000€ ) Qrs to 100.000 ( 20.000€) Qrs. We used to have some sort of Shabka in Spain some time ago but it consisted of lingerie and home items to decorate the new house.If the family is very wealthy, they show it buying 2,3 or even 4 different sets of jewelry in gold or diamonds. Lucky girl!

  Una shabka tradicional consiste en un colgante de oro con un medallón de unos 22 quilates, pendientes , 2 brazaletes y anillos de oro que el novio  o la familia del novio regala a su futura esposa. Sólo las novias muy conservadores llevan las shabkas tradicionales  que pueden adquirirse en el mercado de oro o el Souq Al- Waagif. Hoy en día  se prefiere ir a Bulgari, Chopard, Pomellato, Vasari o Tiffany ... los tiempos han cambiado también en el desierto!. Una shabka moderna ( colgante, pendientes, brazalete, anillo y un reloj de diseño) puede costar entre 5000Qrs y 100.000Qrs ( 1000€-20.000€). Si la familia es muy rica adquirirá 2-3 o incluso 4 juegos de shabkas!. Y como en Catar prácticamente no hay delincuencia pueden apreciarse shabkas dignas de una princesa ...!.

Rebeca Sanver participated in many Goya awards editions, the latest edition , Sanver made a pair of shoes inspired in "Women on a verge of a nervous breakdown "the edition winner  by the most internationally acclaimed spanish filmmaker, Pedro Almodóvar, starring Antonio Banderas and Carmen Maura.

Rebeca sanver ha participado en varias ediciones de los premios Goya, en la última creó un zapato inspirado en el film ganador del Goya : "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios" de nuestro oscarizado Pedro Almodóvar con Antonio Banderas y Carmen Maura. 

We know that these fantastic shoes have to be accompanied by fabulous handbags but that will  be another chapter!.

Shoeahólicos, sabemos que estos maravillosos zapatos deben ir acompañados por bolsos igualmente espectaculares pero eso será en otro capítulo de Ladies and the City!.

QATAR CHAPTER 1 : Las lujosas bodas cataríes!

La primera vez que fuí a una boda catarí me sentí como en un cuento!. Es un verdadero espectáculo de color, iluminación, vestidazos de alta costura (Mucho Cavalli, Dior, Gucci ...) acompañados por vertiginosos tacones de aguja y una joyería impresionate!. El maquillaje sofisticadíssimo; cejas en arco muy marcadas, sombras de ojos muy oscuras en degradé,  labios en rojo o fucsia intenso .... Normalmente las bodas se celebran en grandes salones como Al Dana Club o el Regency. Recibir una invitación de boda en el Ritz Carlton o en el Dafna Hall en el Sheraton, son  palabras mayores; entre 400-500 invitadas. No se permiten cámaras, iphones o blackberries. Hay mucha seguridad y se registran todos los bolsos escrupulosamente , ya que, al tratarse de una celebración femenina, las mujeres no llevarán velo o abaya. Una vez en el salón de fiestas se forma una fila para felicitar a la familia más próxima de  los novios. Normalmente se dan dos besos en las mejillas o muchos más, si la invitada está muy unida a la família .Si no se conoce muy bien, lo mejor es sonreir y decir : " mabrouk" felicidades en árabe. 

The first time I had the honor to attend a qatari women´s wedding I  felt like a bride myself , is truly spectacular !. They dress in couture gowns and is not uncommon to see cavalli, Dior, Gucci ...  and the most amazing jewelry!. The Hall for the women´sreception is another indicator of the evening to come. Invitations to the Ritz Carlton ballroom - as I attended -or Dafna Hall atthe Sheraton, mean large affairs with at least from 400-500 women attending. Al Dana Club and the regency are also quite popular.

No  cameras , iphones or blackberries  are allowed at women´s weddings or any kind of women´s celebrations, because since there will be no men, none of the women will be wearing their islamic coverings. When you´ll be Passing through security into the party, you will see many female relatives of the bride and groom. Each of them greeted with a kiss in the cheek as in Spain or multiple ones if they know the person very well.  If you don´t know any family members it´s best  to smile and say “ mabrouk” congratulations in arabic!.

Invitación de boda. Wedding invitation example 

La novia hace su  majestuosa entrada cuando las invitadas han estado esperando una hora. Si la invitación estipula que la fiesta empieza a las 9:00pm , las invitadas llegarán a las 10:00pm y la novia hará su entrada a las 11.00 pm. La entrada de la novia es un verdadero espectáculo; Se apagan las luces lentamente, las cortinas se van abriendo poco a poco y  un único foco ilumina a la novia que hace su entrada triunfal, atravesando la nube de humo y dirigiéndose muy lentamente al delicado sofá al final  de la pasarela atrayendo la atención de todas las asitentes. Sí hay una pasarela y ahora entenderéis por qué!. En el transcurso de la velada las mujeres solteras bailan en honor a la novia lanzando monedas que posteriormente se recogen  para la banda que ameniza la noche. Normalmente sólo las mujeres solteras bailan en la pasarela con el fin de  que las madres con hijos casaderos las vean, averiguen a qué familia pertecene y escojan a la más apropiada.Es un momento mágico;  uno de los únicos momentos en los que las mujeres árabes pueden despojarse de las abayas y lucir sus mejores galas en compañía femenina, un momento en el que  generaciones de la misma familia se divierten;  abuelas con recargados adornos dorados  en los velos ,  jóvenes estilosísimas de alta costura y niñas con sus vestiditos con grandes lazos y zapatitos de charol!. 

The bride will make her appearance once the guests have been waiting for an hour or so, after the printed start time in the invitation. If the invitation will say 9:00pm the guests will arrive at 10:00pm and the bride an hour or so later. Her entrance is a dramatic event with fog, light display, raising of a curtain and slow walk up towards a delicate sofa at the end of the room which captures everyone s attention.  They say white is not only the bride´s color in Qatar, as you may see other white gowns among the guests, but I´ve only seen white in brides. During the meal ( 3-4 course meal or buffet style) all the guests will dance in honor of the bride throwing money in appreciation of the band that will be later collected and distributed.  This is a moment when the living generations of a family gathered together; grandmothers in abayas with shiny gold face coverings, the young women in their fashionable evening wear and children scuffing their new shiny shoes.

Typically, months prior to the wedding  women shop outside Qatar for a designer gown that no one else will be wearing. The more opulent the wedding, the harder the search for the perfect gown and they´re guests!. Imagine the bride !!!. In the Arabian Gulf weddings are unique. The couple will have two wedding celebrations; a female and a male one, separately. Hundreds of guests are invited and  in most cases, you will be unlikely to know the bride herself but you´ll receive an invitation through her cousin or a  friend. 

The invitation, with the wedding and party details, will be most of the times printed in cream paper and decorated  with ribbons, crystals,sequins... anticipating a lavish event!. Inside the invitation there´s a “ticket” that you must present to the guards at the entrance of the hall and you can keep the invitation.  Everyone, especially those closest to the bride will spend the entire day at the salon getting ready with elaborate coiffures, inmaculate nails, amazing make up ... Towards the end of the evening, when the groom and other male family members arrive to pick up the bride, women replace their abayas and shaylas and the bride stands out in her wedding finery. When there´s a band with a male singer he´s usually behind a curtain to not disturb the enjoyment of the guests. At the end of the wedding, the experience has been so fabulous that  I found myself thinking : I can´t wait to get invited to another wedding!. I´m going to get "wedding addicted" as they´re truly interesting, spectacular, fun, over the top and it made me think that maybe many many years ago spanish weddings may be  quite similar!. 

Meses antes de la boda, no sólo la novia sinó las asistentes viajan fuera de Catar para adquirir piezas únicas y exclusivas de alta costura .Cuándo más  lujosa sea la boda, más difícil será la búsqueda del vestido perfecto para la ocasión y se trata de las invitadas a la boda! imagináos la novia !!!. En el Golfo las bodas son especiales. Típicamente, los novios tendrán dos celebraciones , el novio por una parte y la novia por otra, separadamente. Invitan a cientos de invitados y en la mayoría de los casos, no se conoce directamente a la novia; la invitación llega por una prima o amiga. La invitación suele ser beige, decorada con lazos, lentejuelas y cristales de svaroski anticipando un gran acontecimiento. En el interior de la invitación hay un ticket que tenedremos que presentar en el control de seguridad antes de entrar en la sala de fiestas. Las asistentes a la boda , especialmente la familia más cercana a la novia, pasará las horas previas a la boda en el salón de belleza con peinados elaborados, uñas inmaculadas y maquillándose para la ocasión. Al final de la noche llega el novio, el padre y los hermanos de la novia para recogerla, este es el momento cuando  las asistentes se disponen a ponerse las abayas y  velos  y la novia destaca por encima de las demás con su espectacular e inmaculado vestido de novia!. Si  actúa una banda con un cantante masculino, éste debe permanecer detrás de la cortina durante toda la celebración para no incomodar a las asistentes. Las bodas en el Catar son  inolvidables!. Seguramente que hace muchos años en España encontraríamos muchas similitudes !. Tengo una "adicción" a las bodas cataríes, nunca dejo de sorprenderme y me parece estar en las mil y una noches ... !!!. 

WHAT´S NEW IN BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK?

Last week I put on my fashionista outfit and attended Barcelona Bridal Week!.Gran Vía Fira de Barcelona (Barcelona Trade Show) opened its doors to host the most coveted show for the brides to be and national and international bridal top designers, anxious to showcase their work couldn´t miss it on may 10-15th!.This year,Barcelona Bridal Week, formely called Gaudí Brides hosted 250 brands. ROSA CLARA opened the program and PRONOVIAS - as the largest bridal gown company in the world- closed it!. 

La semana pasada nos vestimos con nuestras mejores galas y fuimos a Barcelona Bridal Week en Gran Vía Hospitalet,que abrió sus puertas en la cita más esperada por nuestras futuras novias!. Diseñadores nacionales e internacionales se dieron cita para mostrar sus más preciadas colecciones en una cita que ninguna novia fashionista que se precie podía perderse. En esta edición, "Barcelona Bridal Week" congregó 250 firmas. ROSA CLARA abrió el programa y PRONOVIAS, como no podía ser de otra forma cerró BBW - Gaudí Novias.  

PRONOVIAS presented "La Nuit Blanche" 2012 collection. We could see top Models such  as Valentina Zelyaeva,Karolina Kurkova,Ana Beatriz Barros or Irina Shayk. PRONOVIAS was not present  in the 2nd edition of "Iwed"Qatar, but I´m sure it will be present in the next edition!. I wish some of the designers would be able to attend to a wedding in Qatar  as it would be a great source of inspiration for them. I´ve never seen as much glamour, luxury, feminity ,luxury and attention to detail as in Qatar!. It was truly an extraordinary experience I´m looking forward to repeat!. 

PRONOVIAS presentó  una colección llamada "la Nuit Blanche" , la noche blanca en la que pudimos ver desfilar "top models" como Valentina  Zelyaeva,Karolina Kurkova,Ana Beatriz Barros o Irina Shayk que acaparó la atención de todos los asistentes. PRONOVIAS presente en el mercado catarí desde enero 2011 no estuvo presente en "I wed" Qatar pero estamos seguros que tendrá una gran repercusión en futuras ediciones.  La única firma española presente fué "NOVIAS" una firma española semi desconocida en España  que acaparó toda la atención del público catarí. Sabéis lo que sería una gran fuente inspiración para nuestros diseñadores? Tener la oportunidad de asistir a una boda catarí; cuánto lujo, glamour, feminidad, y explosión de  fantasía ... realmente inolvidable!.

MONTESINOS with 20 years in the industry, charmed the audience with very detailed bridal gowns and pink and silver touches. It was definitely the most elegant and sophisticated  designer in the show!. I 

loved the little "white riding hood"a wink to fairy tales! 

 Las tablas de MONTESINOS , 20 años en el sector, conquistaron al público con sofisticados apliques plata y rosa pálido en los trajes más elegantes de BBW Gaudí Novias!.Me encantó la caperucita "blanca" un guiño a los cuentos infantiles!. 

   

  

 The most acclaimed catway by the audience for his spectacular "mise en scène" and fantastic gowns was DALMAU in his 3rd edition participating in Barcelona Bridal Week!. Sexy corsets covered in feathers, bright rhinestone belts, on and off maxi overskirts , colored silks or the use of embroidered paillettes allowing an innovative wedding dress becoming an stunning evening dress definitely charmed the audience and the critics!. Are we may getting a little bit tired of  spending thousands of euros on a traditional wedding dress we will use only once? Something to think of!.

Barcelona registered over 14000 buyers and visitors of 50 foreign countries in its 20 edition. Glamour and sophistication are back in Barcelona!. 

Pero el diseñador más aclamado por su espectacular puesta en escena y fantástica colección fué DALMAU en su tercera edición de "Barcelona Bridal Week". Corsés ultra sexys repletos de plumas, cinturones de pedrería, paillettes bordadas y sus sobrefaldas maxi - invención del diseñador que ha patentado! conquistaron al público y a los críticos. Especialmente en tiempos de crisis,  algunas novias buscarán  versatilidad, un vestido no sólo que se transforme en un maravilloso vestido de fiesta al final de la velada sinó que sea reutilizable!. 

BBW registró más de 14000 compradores y visitantes de 50 países en su 20ª edición!. Glamour y  sofisticación en Barcelona!.
